Explosions are possible if oxidizers are present, and detection challenges necessitate robust leak monitoring systems. Methanol is toxic and flammable, with concerns about corrosion and spills, while ammonia is corrosive and toxic, with potential ecological damage if released.
Policy recommendations emphasize adhering to established safety standards, conducting risk assessments, implementing safety-by-design approaches, and investing in public education and training to foster safer integration of these technologies in industrial and energy applications.
