• Impact of Invasion: Digitalized MSMEs faced challenges such as revenue losses, staffing cuts, and financial strains due to global sanctions against the Russian Federation, though they were less likely to close temporarily or experience no revenue compared to nondigitalized firms. Internationalized firms (engaged in global trade) were disproportionately affected by revenue declines and operational difficulties.
• Digitalization's Role: Digital tools helped maintain operations but did not fully offset supply chain disruptions. For example, digitalized firms reported stricter price hikes and logistics issues. MSMEs in sectors like agriculture, manufacture, and services showed varied outcomes, with some thriving domestically while others struggled due to high costs and sanctions.
• Policy Implications: Four policy recommendations are proposed:
