报告摘要
Influenza Risk Assessment at Human-Animal Interface (June 28 - August 30, 2022)
From June 28 to August 30 2022, four new human influenza infections were officially reported, involving avian influenza A(H5N6) viruses, influenza A(H9N2) viruses, influenza A(H1N2) variant viruses, and influenza A(H3N2) variant viruses. Subsequently, one additional A(H1N2) variant and two additional A(H3N2) variant cases were detected. The overall public health risk remains unchanged, with sustained human-to-human transmission unlikely. Human infections are sporadic and primarily linked to contact with infected animals or contaminated environments. Risks for specific viruses are detailed below.
Highlights of Recent Cases:
- Avian Influenza (A(H5N6)): One case in China, involving a 6-year-old girl with severe pneumonia, tracing back to exposure at a live poultry market.
- Avian Influenza (A(H9N2)): One case in China, a 1.5-year-old boy with mild illness recovered after hospitalization, following poultry exposure.
- Swine Influenza (A(H1N2)v and A(H3N2)v): Cases reported in the US, including two A(H1N2)v and three A(H3N2)v infections, all with mild symptoms; no evidence of sustained human-to-human transmission.
WHO Recommendations:
- Avoid contact with poultry, wild birds, and contaminated surfaces.
- Maintain good hygiene and report animal influenza outbreaks.
- Continue global surveillance for early detection of changes in influenza viruses.
- All human infections with new subtypes must be reported under IHR (2005).
