Country Financing
Roadmap for the SDGs:
Ghana
This report outlines Ghana's strategy to bridge the financing gap for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The country faces a cumulative SDG financing gap of approximately $431.6 billion from 2021 to 2030, despite allocating significant domestic resources and Official Development Assistance (ODA).
Key challenges include insufficient project pipelines, limited private sector risk appetite, and inadequate infrastructure. Proposed solutions involve establishing a Project Preparation Facility (PPF) to enhance project readiness, creating a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) first-loss fund to attract private investment, and exploring innovative financing instruments like SDG bonds.
The Country Financing Roadmap (CFR) is a country- and private sector-led initiative, emphasizing multistakeholder collaboration. It aims to catalyze concrete actions, reduce inefficiencies, and create a supportive ecosystem for sustainable financing by 2030.
