报告摘要
Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) has revolutionized the telecom industry by transitioning from hardware-based to software-defined network functions, reducing costs and enabling flexibility. Et si's ISG NFV, initiated in 2012, has standardized NFV frameworks, supporting deployments from early VNFs to modern cloud-native and containerized systems, which are crucial for 5G and future networks like 6G. Key challenges include managing complexity from virtualization technologies (VMs, containers), operational fragmentation due to multi-vendor systems and open-source divergence, and supporting long-term lifecycle operations. Intense opportunities arise from declarative intent-driven automation, AI/ML integration for intelligent network operations, and multi-cloud heterogeneity. The next decade of NFV will focus on evolving NFV multi-cloud compatibility, unified management and orchestration platforms using enhanced APIs and open-source collaboration, while advancing autonomy through closed-loop automation and AI-based systems to achieve self-healing and self-optimizing networks, ultimately fostering interoperability and unlocking new capabilities for telco ecosystems.
