This report analyzes feedback from countries implementing the GLASS early implementation protocol for the surveillance of Candida spp. resistance. The protocol aids countries in strengthening national fungal AMR surveillance and integrates it into the Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS). Feedback came from 63 GLASS countries at a WHO consultation, representing 74.6% of GLASS countries and 25.4% non-GLASS countries.

Key positive feedback includes high satisfaction with the protocol's clarity (97%) and utility for implementation guidance (94%). Most countries (76%) plan to incorporate it into their national AMR surveillance systems, citing needs for advocacy, resource allocation, laboratory capacity building, and institutional commitment. Laboratory challenges are common, with many lacking full antifungal susceptibility testing capabilities, though some have identification capacities. Only 24% of countries reported systematic monitoring of Candida bloodstream infections.
