Summary of the Solid Waste Management Sector in Pakistan: A Reform Road Map for Policy Makers

Waste Composition

Healthcare Waste
- Hospital waste is generated at a rate of 0.667 kg per bed per day.
- 10–25% of this waste is infectious and hazardous.

- Regulated by the Hospital Waste Management Rules, 2005.
Waste Management Hierarchy
