ATACH Supply Chain Working Group (SC WG) Terms of Reference Summary
1. Mission
The ATACH Supply Chain WG focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in health systems' supply chains to achieve clean, green, and sustainable health systems, aligning with the overall ATACH mission to promote climate-resilient and sustainable health systems through international cooperation.
2. Objectives and Functions
Key objectives include identifying and sharing knowledge on low-carbon and sustainable supply chains, collecting evidence on emissions reduction and procurement challenges, and supporting country-specific needs. Functions are: (i) International shifts for sustainable supply chains with collaboration from Member States and partners; (ii) Monitoring emissions progress; (iii) Quality assurance for assessments and plans; (iv) Financing climate-compatible projects; and (v) Knowledge sharing to enhance implementation.
3. Secretariat
WHO serves as the secretariat, subject to human and financial resources, providing coordination and support.
4. Participants
The WG is open to ATACH participants, who join based on interest and are invited to meetings. They can withdraw at any time.
5. Responsibilities of Participants
Participants must adhere to ToRs, promote WG work, actively engage in activities, and share knowledge with other members.
6. Chairs
Each WG has two co-chairs, one from government institutions with climate change mandate, and one from technical agencies, appointed for one year. Chairs oversee discussions and ensure synergy with other groups.
7. Amendments
ToRs may be revised periodically by the secretariat after consulting the Steering Group and SG decisions.
