The European Banking Authority (EBA) offers a traineeship programme in the Economic Analysis and Statistics Department, which is open to recent university graduates. Main Activities and Units

Trainees may be assigned to one of the following units based on their background and skills:

• Perform thematic work on risks and ad hoc analyses in relevant areas.
• Assist in implementation of surveys and studies.
• Prepare presentations and reports related to stress testing.
• Provide support to other tasks of the unit.

2. Economic Analysis and Impact Assessment Unit

• Support key projects and senior members of staff.
• Contribute to policy stances, opinions, and advice.
• Analyse the impact of EBA regulatory products.
• Participate in BCBS quantitative impact studies.
• Support other tasks of the unit.

3. Statistics Unit

• Support joint projects with the IT Unit.
• Maintain and improve the supervisory information system.
• Contribute to the efficient implementation and maintenance of data collection systems.
• Develop and maintain user-friendly visualisation tools for exploring EBA's supervisory data on EU banks.
• Provide support to other tasks of the unit.

Requirements

1.1 Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or a candidate country.
• Must have completed the first cycle of higher university education and obtained a full degree certificate within five years of the application deadline.
• Must have very good knowledge of English (at least B2 level according to CEFR).

1.2 Selection Criteria

• Hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Banking, Statistics, or Information Management.
• Have a graduate thesis on topics related to Financial Analysis, Data Quality Assurance, Risk Management in Banking, Stress Testing, or Macro Prudential Policies, Impact Assessment.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Proven ability to draft documents in English.
• Awareness and interest in the role and functioning of the EBA.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
• Knowledge of stress testing techniques and banking data handling.
• Proficiency in statistical software (preferably SAS).
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and VBA programming.

1.3 Application Submission

1.4 Data Protection

• The EBA ensures that personal data of candidates are processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1725.
