Main Purpose
The Corporate Support Officer position is aimed at coordinating and supervising operational tasks related to the EBA’s office and premises, as well as events organized by the EBA. The role supports the smooth running of these operations and ensures that the EBA’s managers and staff can effectively perform their core functions.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise all operational activities related to the EBA’s office and premises, including contracts, supply orders, stationery, and services provided by the landlord.
- Maintain records of contracts with suppliers.
- Coordinate administrative, organisational, and technical support for EBA events.
- Manage the planning, monitoring, and execution of the office operations and event budgets.
- Act as an operational verifier for financial transactions linked to the EBA’s operations and events.
- Coordinate activities related to fire, health, and safety, and ensure the implementation of the EBA’s health and safety policy.
- Provide general administrative and operational support.
- Ensure operational targets are met and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Must be entitled to full citizen rights.
- Must have fulfilled any applicable military service obligations.
- Must be physically fit for the role.
- Must provide a certificate of no criminal record and undergo a medical examination.
2. Qualifications
- Must have completed university studies (attested by a diploma) and at least one year of professional experience if the normal period of study is three years.
- Or completed university studies with a diploma and no additional professional experience if the normal period of study is four years or more.
- Qualifications must be from EU or EEA authorities or recognized as equivalent.
3. Professional Experience
- Minimum of 7 years (for 3-year study) or 6 years (for 4-year study) of full-time professional experience in relevant fields, such as operations, administration, or project management.
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must prove proficiency in a second EU language.
- Knowledge of other official EU languages is advantageous.
5. Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in international operations coordination and supervision.
- Experience in managing external service providers and preparing tender specifications.
- Experience in supervising financial transactions related to operations.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office and database management.
- Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
- Advantageous: Professional training in fire, health, and safety, and project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI).

Selection Procedure

- Successful candidates are ranked by merit, with the highest scorers being recruited. Those scoring 12 or above are placed on a reserve list valid until 31/12/2014.

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract type: Temporary agent fixed-term contract of three years, with a nine-month probation period and possible extension.
- Expected start date: 16 September 2014.
- Grade: AD 7.
- Estimated monthly basic salary: €5,612.65.
- Additional benefits include expatriation allowance, household allowance, and others based on family situation and origin.
- Annual leave: 2 days per calendar month, plus supplementary home leave.
