【IRENA】公用事业规模太阳能和风能领域的投资机会:萨尔瓦多
报告摘要
El Salvador has significant potential for utility-scale solar and wind energy development, with a maximum development potential of approximately 12.2 gigawatts (GW) for solar PV and 0.24 GW for onshore wind projects. This potential is concentrated in the central eastern regions, particularly along existing and planned transmission lines and road networks, due to favorable resource availability and proximity to infrastructure. The assessment identified 32 zones for solar PV and 7 for wind, each with maximum concentration capacities of 5,000 MW and land utilisation factors of 50%, allowing for high installation densities of 100 MW/km² for solar and 15 MW/km² for wind. Key techno-economic parameters include capacity factors ranging from 18.8% to 28.2%, levelised cost of energy (LCOE) between USD 101/MWh and USD 157/MWh, and distances to transmission lines between 0.6 km and 12.3 km. This analysis supports El Salvador's renewable energy targets for 2026, which are currently at 682 MW, and encourages further site-specific evaluations to reduce investment risks and promote sustainable energy growth. The study's limitations include subjectivity in threshold settings and data quality issues, with non-technical factors like land ownership also influencing site selection.
