Mission & Vision

Development Initiatives (DI) aims to improve the lives of people experiencing poverty, inequality, and crisis by unlocking the power of data through partnerships, evidence, and ethical approaches.

Key Focus Areas

Unlocking Data Power: Providing data-driven evidence, tools (e.g., aid tracker), and capacity-building to support effective policies and investments for marginalized communities.

Major Achievements

Africa Hub Launch: Established a new strategic hub focused on finance, data, and ecosystems in East Africa.
Global Nutrition Report: Successfully hosted the GNR, developed the NAF, and championed nutrition accountability globally.
Climate Finance Advocacy: Highlighted funding gaps during COP27 and advocated for more effective tracking and accountability.
Humanitarian Data: Improved transparency and localisation data through collaborations like with Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) and Partnerships for Data & Response.
Leave No One Behind (LNOB): Provided training and resources to national coalitions and advised the Swiss government on LNOB commitments.
