The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established in 2011 under Regulation (EC) No. 1093/2010. The EBA is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to support its team responsible for promoting and monitoring the efficient functioning of the Colleges of Supervisors for EEA cross-border banking groups.
Main Purpose
The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the EBA's Colleges team, ensuring smooth coordination, communication, and compliance with deadlines and milestones. The role involves managing correspondence, updating databases, supporting internal and external working groups, and acting as a point of contact with National Supervisory Authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support in coordinating the EBA's engagement in Colleges of Supervisors.
- Screen and file emails and correspondence related to Colleges of Supervisors.
- Support the monitoring of information exchange among national supervisors.
- Encourage compliance with deadlines and milestones in the EBA action plan.
- Maintain EBA databases for Colleges.
- Provide administrative support in internal and external working groups and projects.
- Serve as the main point of contact with National Supervisory Authorities.
Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements:
- Must be a national of an EU Member State.
- Must have full citizen rights.
- Must have fulfilled any military service obligations.
- Must be physically fit for the role.
- Must provide a certificate of no criminal record and undergo a medical examination.
Specific Requirements:
- Must have a post-secondary education diploma or secondary education diploma with access to post-secondary education, along with at least one year of relevant professional experience.
- Must have at least three years of proven full-time professional experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in the field of banking or banking supervision.
- Must have excellent knowledge of the English language (written and spoken).

- Have proven experience as an administrative assistant.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Be proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite.
- Have experience working with databases.

Selection Procedure
The selection process includes:
- Establishment of a Selection Committee: To review applications and shortlist candidates.
- Written Tests: Conducted in English, assessing knowledge, understanding, analysis, summarization, and drafting skills. Total score: 10.
- Interviews: Conducted in English, evaluating suitability, professional knowledge, and motivation. Total score: 10.
Candidates will be ranked by merit, and those with the highest scores will be recruited. Candidates scoring 15 or above will be placed on a reserve list valid until 31 December 2012. Note: Inclusion in the reserve list does not guarantee recruitment.
Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract Type: Fixed-term contract of two years with a nine-month probation period, potentially extendable.
- Start Date: Expected to be 1 May or 1 June 2012.
- Grade: FG III.
- Estimated Monthly Salary: €2,457.08 (basic salary, exempt from national tax; Community tax at source applies).
