报告摘要
Global Respiratory Virus Activity Weekly Update N° 505 summarizes respiratory virus data through Week 48, ending December 1, 2024.
Influenza activity was elevated in various regions of the Northern Hemisphere, including Northern Europe (mostly A(H1N1)pdm09), Eastern Europe, Central America and the Caribbean (mostly A(H3N2)), Western Africa (mostly A(H3N2) and B), Middle Africa, Western Asia, and Southern Asia (mostly A(H1N1)pdm09). Activity increased in parts of Northern, Eastern, and Southern Asia. In the Southern Hemisphere, elevated activity was reported in Tropical South America and Eastern Africa, primarily due to B viruses, with increases in one Eastern African country and declines in others.
SARS-CoV-2 activity remained high in many European and South American countries, as well as a few in North America and Southeast Asia. Increased activity was noted in parts of Southwestern Europe, but similar or declining trends were observed elsewhere.
This summary is based on virologic surveillance data, with detailed analyses available through specified channels.
