报告摘要
This report analyzes global perceptions of international threats based on a Pew Research Center survey conducted in 40 countries with over 45,435 respondents from March 25 to May 27, 2015. The key findings are as follows:
Climate change is identified as the top global threat in most countries, with particularly high concern in Latin America (median very concerned: 61%) and Africa (59%), due to regional vulnerability and awareness of its impacts. Asia shows moderate concern overall (median 41%), while Europe and the U.S. express lower levels (42% and 42% respectively), influenced by ideological factors where left-leaning groups are more concerned.
Conversely, the Islamic State (ISIS) is the primary concern in Europe (median 70%), the Middle East (e.g., Lebanon at 84%), and parts of Asia (e.g., U.S. and South Korea), reflecting its recent violence and territorial control. It ranks second in many regions like Latin America and Africa, but is less prominent globally.
Global economic instability is a common secondary worry across multiple countries, rising to the top in places like Brazil (60%), where economic woes contribute to concerns. Africa and Europe show it as a major threat, with countries like Ghana (67%) and Germany (41%) citing it as high priority.
Other issues, such as Iran's nuclear program and cyberattacks, are region-specific, with higher concerns in Israel and the U.S., respectively. These are less widespread than climate change or ISIS. Territorial disputes involving Russia or China are largely confined to regional concerns, except in Ukraine and Vietnam, where they rank highly.
Age and political ideology influences concern levels, with older populations generally more worried about most issues, except climate change in the U.S., where younger people show greater concern. The survey highlights regional disparities in threat perceptions, with climate change dominating vulnerable areas like Latin America and Africa, while security issues like ISIS gain prominence in conflict zones.
