The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established in 2011 to ensure high-quality, effective, and consistent regulation and supervision in the areas of banking, payments, and e-money. The EBA is currently seeking a Policy Expert on secondment to work in the area of supervisory reporting, specifically focusing on the Single Rulebook Q&A process related to the Implementing Technical Standard (ITS) on supervisory reporting under Regulation (EU) No 680/2014.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Single Rulebook Q&A process to address stakeholders' questions on the ITS related to supervisory reporting.
- Ensure efficient execution and administration of the Q&A process and contribute to the timely completion of guidelines and technical standards.
- Prepare policy stances and provide policy advice to ensure consistent application of reporting standards.
- Support internal committees and subgroups in the area of supervisory reporting.
- Represent the EBA externally at a technical level in relevant EU and international forums.
- Collaborate with the EBA's IT team and other staff in defining reporting requirements and data models.
- Contribute to other oversight activities of the EBA.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Language proficiency: Thorough knowledge of one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, EFTA Member State, or a country with which the EU has initiated accession negotiations.
- Citizenship rights: Must be entitled to full rights as a citizen.
2. Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of higher education (e.g., bachelor's degree) with a diploma.
- Qualifications must be from EU/EEA Member States or recognized as equivalent.
- If obtained outside the EU, must be recognized by an EU Member State authority.
3. Professional Experience
- At least two years of full-time professional experience in bank regulation, banking supervision, or similar roles.
- Experience is counted from the date of diploma to the application deadline.
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate second language proficiency.
5. Selection Criteria
- Proven knowledge of EU banking regulation, particularly CRR/CRD.
- Experience in drafting policy stances or regulatory texts.
- Communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in engaging with stakeholders in EU legislative processes.
- Knowledge of accounting and supervisory reporting.
6. Competencies
- Experience in EU/multicultural/international environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload without close supervision.
- High sense of responsibility.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Appointment and Conditions
- The position is a secondment from a national supervisory authority or an IGO.
- Duration: 12 to 24 months, renewable.

- The EBA provides daily and monthly subsistence allowances, set annually by the Commission.
