Summary of WHO Influenza Human-Animal Interface Report as of 4 September 2015:

Human infection with avian influenza A(H5) viruses: From July to September 2015, no new laboratory-confirmed cases reported for H5N1 or other H5 subtypes, except for four cases of H5N6 in China since 2014. Cumulative cases: 844 for H5N1, with 449 deaths, as of September 2015.

Human infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) viruses: No new cases reported since July 2015. Cumulative laboratory-confirmed cases: 677, with at least 275 deaths. Public health risk assessment remains unchanged.

Human infection with avian influenza A(H9N2) viruses: One laboratory-confirmed case in Bangladesh in February 2015, involving a child with mild illness; no further cases among contacts. The virus circulates in poultry, and public health risk is considered low with limited human-to-human transmission.

Human infection with influenza A(H3N2)v viruses: Two laboratory-confirmed cases in the US (Minnesota and Michigan in 2015), involving individuals with direct swine contact; no community spread detected. Risk assessment indicates low likelihood of widespread transmission.
