Main Purpose
The Policy Expert will be responsible for managing and supporting the Q&A process, which aims to address stakeholders' questions on the practical application of banking regulations. This includes ensuring the efficient administration of the process, drafting Q&As, and contributing to the development of regulatory texts. The role is part of a small team tasked with maintaining the functionality of the Q&A process.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Single Rulebook Q&A process for CRD-CRR and related reporting frameworks.
- Ensure efficient administration and monitoring of the Q&A process.
- Contribute to the development and timely delivery of Q&As.
- Represent the EBA in technical working groups and with stakeholders.
- Prepare policy stances and provide regulatory advice.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following general and specific requirements:
- Nationality: Must be a national of a European Union Member State or a European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) citizen.
- Language: Must have excellent knowledge of English and satisfactory knowledge of another EU language.
- Fitness: Be physically fit for the role.
- Education: Hold a university diploma (minimum 3 years of study or 4 years or more).
- Experience: At least 7 years (for 3-year education) or 6 years (for 4-year education) of full-time professional experience in bank regulation, supervision, or similar roles in the banking sector.
Selection Criteria
In addition to eligibility, the following are assessed:
- Knowledge of EU banking regulation, particularly CRD-CRR and Supervisory Reporting frameworks (COREP, FINREP).
- Experience in drafting policy stances and regulatory texts.
- Experience dealing with EU legislative stakeholders.

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract type: Temporary agent, fixed-term, 3 years with a probation period of 9 months.
- Estimated start date: 1 September 2019.
- Salary: Estimated monthly basic salary is €6,128.51.
- Employment benefits:
- Union tax instead of national tax.
- Correction coefficient applicable for Paris.
- Expatriation allowances and other benefits based on family situation and origin.
- Annual leave: 2 days per month, plus supplementary home leave (2.5 days) for those with expatriation benefits.
