EBA Traineeship Summary
Core Content
The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established on 1 January 2011 under Regulation (EC) No. 1093/2010. It plays a crucial role in enhancing the functioning of the EU internal market by ensuring high-quality, effective, and consistent regulation and supervision in the areas of banking, payments, e-money, and related corporate governance, auditing, and financial reporting matters. The EBA also aims to promote financial system stability, market transparency, and the protection of depositors and investors.
One of the EBA's key objectives is to prevent regulatory arbitrage and ensure a level playing field across the EU. It works to strengthen international supervisory coordination, promote supervisory convergence, and provide expert advice to EU institutions.
